SIS MILESTONES
Sunway International Schools' (SIS) history and future are closely tied to Sunway Education Group (SEG) which has a track record of more than 30 years and a reputation as a pioneer of private education in Malaysia. SEG institutions cover the full range of educational programmes from kindergarten to doctoral studies for Malaysian and international students and are owned and governed by the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation.

SIS Kuala Lumpur campus has become a school that now holds three internationally recognized programmes as SIS Kuala Lumpur offers the Cambridge (IGCSE) Programme in July 2023.
We are proud to have moved into our 8-acre, Green RE-certified and purpose-built campus is 2023. The campus can accommodate up to 3,000 students and will offer kindergarten to pre-university programmes.
As it becomes a candidate school for IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and expands its Grade 12 (pre-university) offering to include the IB Career-Related Programme (IBCP). The newly completed ‘Block E’ becomes a timely addition to this campus as its programme offerings and student numbers grow.
And the construction of an additional two-story block commences to address growing enrolments and wait-lists at SIS Johor campus. Its new ‘Block E’ is completed in 2021.
That same year, and enhances its role as an international education provider with the launch of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at both campuses in Sunway City KL and Sunway City Iskandar Puteri. SIS’s inaugural cohorts of IBDP students at both campuses graduated in 2018.
In Sunway City Iskandar Puteri, the integrated township, to cater to the increasing popularity in the southern region. SIS Johor campus is the first Kindergarten to Grade 12 (K-12) school by Sunway Education Group.
As more students enrol at SIS Sunway City KL. A larger library, more classrooms, and special rooms for Music and Drama become necessary to support students' learning. SIS expands its campus to include another building called the ‘East Block’.
And SIS moves to a newly constructed single-building campus adjacent to Sunway College. With the demand for on-campus accommodation, SIS commences its boarding facility for students and calls it SIS House.
In Sunway City Kuala Lumpur at an interim campus with high school offerings. With its first cohort of 25 students, Malaysia's first and only international school to offer the Canadian school curriculum is born.
