Maggie Zhu

Maggie Zhu holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics for Education and Bachelor of Education for the intermediate senior division from York University. She is qualified to teach Mathematics and Dance. Prior to SIS, she taught in China for 2.5 years. Ms. Zhu joins SIS teaching Grade 12 Advance Functions, and Calculus and Vector.

Luc Degrace

Luc Degrace graduated from Laval University with a Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences) and a Master’s degree in Political Science.  He then continued his studies at the University of Ottawa and obtained a Bachelor of Education. Prior to joining us at SIS, Mr. Degrace taught for two years in Taiwan and four years in Canada. He is currently teaching Grade 9 Geography and Grade 10 French at SIS. 

Brian Le

Brian Le graduated from the University of Guelph, Ontario, with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics.  He later earned his Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Sunshine Coast in Australia with an additional English language learner qualification from Brock University. He has taught for 9 years and has taught in the UK, Australia, China, and Malaysia. Mr. Le specializes in ESL and is currently teaching high school ESL at SIS.

Aaron MacArthur

Aaron MacArthur spent the last 12 years working in various international educational settings in Malaysia, Singapore, China, Kuwait, and Indonesia. He has taught mathematics, international business, and business leadership. Mr. MacArthur has worked in International Baccalaureate, American, and Ontario curriculum schools. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA from the University of Guelph, and a Bachelor of Education from the Onario Institute of Studies in Education.

Alex Lapp

Alex Lapp holds a BA Degree in Economics from York University in Toronto and a Masters of Science in Education from Medaille College, Buffalo, New York.  He has been teaching for 15 years, beginning with Korea and Thailand as an ESL teacher in public schools. After completing his Masters in Education, he has been teaching  Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, and Business for British Columbia Offshore schools in China for 8 years.  Mr Lapp joins SIS in 2021.

Claire Watson

Claire Watson spent more than 12 years teaching in South East Asia, China, and the Middle East.  She taught Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Education in various curricula such as Advanced Placement, American, International Baccalaureate, and Ontario. Ms. Watson holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from the University of Toronto; a Bachelor of Education from Ontario Institute of Studies in Education, and a Master of Education from Charles Sturt University.

Easton Hanna

Easton Hanna earned a Diploma in Child and Youth Counseling at Mohawk College before pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He obtained a Bachelor of Education from York University in Toronto in 2007. Mr. Hanna taught with the Canadian Pre-University Programme in Malaysia for 8 years before returning home to teach with Halton District School Board for two years. He began teaching Grade 9 English at SIS in January 2020. 

Terrance Tam

Terrance Tam graduated from the concurrent teacher education program at the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education. He tutored at Kumon Math and Reading Center for more than 10 years, taught math in the United Kingdom for 1 year, and supplied for the Toronto District School Board Elementary Division for 2 years before joining SIS in July 2017. Mr. Tam currently teaches math and is the lead teacher advisor for the High School Student Council at SIS.

Lim Ann Lay

Lim Ann Lay holds a Bachelor (Hons) of Arts from the University of Malaya, a Diploma of Education from the University of Science Malaysia and a Master of Modern Language Studies from University Malaya. Mr. Lim has 26 years of teaching experience in Malaysia and Singapore, having taught students in the local and British curriculum, and IB Diploma programmes. Mr. Lim teaches high school's Bahasa Malaysia in SIS.

Kellee Melendy

Kellee Melendy holds a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Psychology, a Bachelor of Education, and a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology, from the Memorial University of Newfoundland. She has taught science, biology and social sciences in Newfoundland, Quebec, Beijing, and Malaysia. Ms. Melendy joins the SIS team as the Grade 9 Science teacher.
