Learning in Many Forms

SIS encourages students to learn through real-world exploration. Outdoor activities, field trips, and camps provide hands-on learning experiences about local history, nature, and contemporary issues. Younger students take part in nearby excursions, while those in the IBMYP, DP, and CP students embark on trips to local and international destinations.

Events like the SIS Science Fair encourage a spirit of inquiry and creativity. These fairs allow students to apply STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills, while also boosting confidence, critical thinking, and communication abilities.

More than just a resource hub, the SIS Library is a centre for academic support and discovery. Our experienced librarians run weekly sessions to guide students in research, help them locate quality resources, and support their academic projects. To explore more, visit the SIS Library.

At SIS, community engagement is central to our mission of developing socially responsible students. We believe outreach provides valuable opportunities for students to connect with and positively impact diverse communities.

Community involvement is integrated into the curriculum and is a mandatory component of the IB Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) Service as Action, Diploma Programme (IBDP) Creative, Activity, Service (CAS), and Career-related Programme (IBCP) Service Learning.

SIS students consistently exceed academic expectations, completing hundreds of community service hours. Through these experiences, they develop leadership, communication, decision-making, and other essential skills while making meaningful contributions to society.
