The SIS Spirit and Strength
It was double the excitement and athletic spirit during our inaugural Sports Day that took place over the course of two thrilling days – kicking off with the High School Sports Day at UNITEN Stadium, Kajang where students from Grades 9 to 11 (Ontario), Year 10 and 11 (Cambridge), and IBDP battled it out in events such as long jump, high jump, and shot put. With hearts racing and sneakers pounding the track, students competed in a full slate of events—from 100m sprints to 800m endurance runs. The stadium erupted with cheers during the highlight event; the teacher vs. student relay that resulted in high energy levels, the loudest applause and plenty of laughter.
The momentum continued on to the Elementary, Primary, Middle School, Lower Secondary School Sports Day when our younger athletes from Kindergarten through Grade 8 (Ontario) and Year 1 to 9 (Cambridge) took over the Panasonic Sports Complex in Shah Alam.
It was a day filled with vibrant enthusiasm as students participated in relays, long jump, shot put, tug of war, and fun telematch-style games. The little faces lit up with pride as ribbons and medals were awarded—not just for winning, but for effort, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
More than just a competition or showcase of athletic talent, the event fostered bonds across ages and reminded everyone what the school spirit is all about. Here’s to many more years of healthy competition and memories made on the field in the spirit of camaraderie.
