MYP ELA Grade 9 & 10 

Saraniya M. Murthy graduated from University of Nottingham with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Education TESOL. She has taught for more than 5 years in diverse international schools for Junior, PYP and MYP levels. She has received IB MYP Language Acquisition workshop and IB Teaching and Learning certificates in 2016. Over the years, she has taught Mandarin as a Second Language for the PYP and MYP. She is teaching MYP English Language Acquisition students in Year 4 and 5.

Educational Assistant

Hani has seven years of experience in early childhood education, including one year in inclusive education. She holds a Diploma in Computer Science and a certificate in Early Childhood Education (Kursus Asuhan Permata) from the Malaysian government under Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat. With experience across various kindergarten levels, she is involved in classroom learning and curriculum implementation, contributing to a positive early learning environment.

Grade 5

Jean Pierre Venter has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wilmington, USA, and a Diploma in Sports Science from the North West University, South Africa. He had the privilege of working in China, South Africa, and currently in Malaysia. At SISJ, he is teaching Kindergarten.

Grade 2

Meet Taesa Solomon, an esteemed educator with over a decade of experience across China, Canada, and South Korea. With a Master's in International Education from George Washington University and a Master's in Early Childhood Education from the University of Denver Colorado, Taesa's pedagogical philosophy thrives on nurturing curiosity, empowering children's voices, cultivating social learning, promoting collaboration, and embracing the magic of emergent curriculum. Currently, she guides our Grade 2 students, shaping a transformative learning experience.

Grade 4

Jodi earned a four-year degree in education in South Africa, specializing in Early Childhood and Foundation Phase. With 13 years of experience, she has taught students between the ages of 3 and 10 years and is currently teaching Grade 4 at SISJ. She has been living in Malaysia for the past two years and is passionate about education. 

Educational Assistant

Munajah Monir is from Johor Bahru. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree (Hons) in Environmental Science from the National University of Malaysia. She joined Sunway International School Johor in March 2022 and initially worked closely with the Grade 1 homeroom teacher before transitioning to the Music and Drama Department. She is also actively involved in school programs with a sports theme, as well as various extracurricular activities.

Mr. Chong went to Nanyang Technological University for his Bachelor of Degree in Chinese; and he also went to National Institute of Education, Singapore for his Postgraduate Diploma in Education. After graduation, he went to different schools and he has varied teaching experience in Cambridge O Level, A Level, IGCSE and IBDP. Mr. Chong just joined SIS in 2025, and currently he is teaching Mandarin Language in both MYP and DP.
