Gerard Kelly
Gerard Kelly is an experienced educator who is delighted to be rejoining the SIS community. He previously served as a Grade 8 Core Teacher from 2020 to 2023. He holds a BA in Languages for International Communications from Dublin City University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (International) from the University of Nottingham.
His teaching career began in Barcelona, where he spent four years as an Elementary Teacher. He later moved to Kuala Lumpur, where he taught Middle School for three and a half years, and also gained valuable High School teaching experience in Ireland. These diverse roles have strengthened his passion for education and enabled him to work with students across a wide range of age groups and cultural backgrounds.
Originally from Ireland, he is married to Aisha, who is from Kuala Lumpur. With her support, he quickly adapted to life in Malaysia and developed a strong appreciation for the local culture and cuisine. In January 2025, they welcomed their daughter, Niamh, whom he hopes will one day become an SIS student.
He is highly passionate about sports and looks forward to contributing to the school’s ECA programme in 2026. He is grateful to be part of SIS once again and is excited to work alongside new colleagues and the school’s students in the coming year.
