Pre-University Pathway Guidance
SIS graduates have gone to further their studies at top-tiered universities across the globe, but before they embark on the journey of a lifetime, they have to start by making the right decisions to get them to where they want to be.
To help students better understand their options, SIS holds dedicated sessions to shed some light on various pre-university programmes. All SIS students have access to the information and resources they need for their decision-making process with their families. The SIS Careers & University Guidance Team are ever ready to support students and answer any questions they can.
At SIS, students have multiple pre-university options ahead of them. They can choose between the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) that is offered here at SIS, continue the Canadian pathway to complete the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) at Sunway College under the Canadian International Matriculation Programme (CIMP), or choosing other international pre-university courses such as A-Levels, Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) or Monash Foundation Year Programme (MUFY) in Sunway College.
University Preparation
Even before leaving school, SIS students start their university preparation much earlier during high school. It is essential that students have the chance to explore and recognise their skills and potential, and to understand what makes them feel fulfilled.
Students have access to bespoke one-to-one guidance with a dedicated counsellor to help them decide which course and higher education establishment best fits them, including understanding different countries application systems and more. Guidance on preparing personal statements, college essays, mock interviews, and moral and practical support on results day is always on hand.
While students typically may have not decided on their chosen pathway, the SIS Guidance & Career Team play an important role in assisting students to better understand themselves throughout their study journey. Some of these areas covered include:

Reflecting the strong ethos of the school for internationalism, many of our graduates pursue universities across the globe. Besides popular countries such as the UK, Australia and North America, there is increasing numbers studying in Continental Europe, Asia, Singapore, and even remaining in private universities in Malaysia.
As part of the Sunway Education Group, we have dedicated counsellors with vast experience of higher education opportunities and application systems worldwide, in particular the International Office-University Placement (IOUP) that has connections with worldwide universities. We will support them wherever they choose to apply.
