SUSTAINABILITY

SIS aims to provide the best education for our students beyond academics and extracurricular activities. As a school that is part of the Sunway Education Group, we commit to the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We fully support all 17 SDGs, and we maximise this impact by educating our students, staff, families and the wider community wherever possible.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS)

In September 2015, the leaders of the world gathered at a special United Nations summit in New York to adopt Agenda 2030 and commit to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  These goals, the product of over three years of intergovernmental negotiation, provide a holistic framework, applicable to all countries, with the vision of eradicating poverty and deprivation, growing economies, protecting the environment, advancing peace and promoting good governance.

While the SDGs have been agreed on, the complexity of issues confronting different countries means much work remains to be done. The Jeffrey Sachs Center on Sustainable Development (JSC), established through partnership with the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, focuses its work on advancing SDG achievement in the ASEAN region through research, and solutions-oriented approaches.
