SECONDARY SCHOOL SUBJECTS

IB Middle Year Programme (IBMYP) provides the framework for our curriculum and it comprises eight subject groups: 

For students who are fluent in reading, writing and speaking the language.

  • Available in grade 6 to 10 for English, Mandarin, and Malay.

For students who are developing their skills in the language and are not quite fully fluent.

  • Available in grade 6 to 10 for English, Mandarin, and Malay.
  • Grade 6 to 10 students use an MYP dedicated textbook to support the students’ development towards the IBDP.
  • Grade 6 to 10 have integrated science; biology, chemistry and physics taught within the same class.
  • Grade 6 to 10 students use an MYP dedicated textbook to support the students’ development towards the IBDP.
  • All grades take Individuals & Societies, a course that integrates History, Humanities, Social Sciences and Geography.
  • Teachers use MYP dedicated resource to support the development of their Units of Study to ensure that what the students are studying is current and relevant to the students.
  • Swimming is a part of the curriculum for grades 6 to 10 students when SOPs permit.
  • Grades 6 to 8 emphasis is on hands-on construction design projects with some computer design work.
  • Grades 9 and 10 has a strong emphasis on computer design including computer programming and robotics.
  • Grade 6 to 8 have integrated Arts; their units can cover visual and performing arts.
  • Grade 9 and 10 focus on visual arts.
