Hannah Upton-Rhodes

Hannah Upton-Rhodes is an educator originally from the United Kingdom who has spent the past five years living and working in Brunei. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new places, and engaging with the local community.

Her teaching journey began over a decade ago and has been strongly influenced by her background in Theatre and the creative arts. This foundation has shaped her approach to working with learners of all ages, particularly in developing communication skills, confidence, and enjoyment in the classroom. She also incorporates storytelling as a tool to support language development and inspire a love of learning. She later trained as a Forest School Leader, and outdoor, hands-on experiences continue to play a key role in her teaching practice.

During her time in Brunei, she taught English as a Second Language (ESL) in lower primary government schools, working with children from diverse backgrounds. She supported them in building confidence and fostering a genuine love for the English language, while also embracing and learning from the local culture.

She looks forward to becoming part of the Sunway community and collaborating closely with students, families, and colleagues.
