Matthew Bjers is an educator who relocated to Kuala Lumpur from Johor Bahru, where he has spent the past year and a half teaching at an international school. He is a US-certified teacher in EC–6 core subjects, as well as Language Arts for grades 6–8 and 7–12.

Prior to his time in Johor Bahru, he gained extensive international teaching experience in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Japan, Korea, China, and the United States. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership, with research focused on programme evaluation and theories of change.

Outside of his professional life, his greatest passion is his two young children, Ziyad and Zara, who are both under the age of two. He is keen to connect with other families who have children of a similar age.
